Two novels have gone viral after people noticed the uncanny similarity between the viruses mentioned in them and the very real Covid-19 virus that has spread through several countries today.
The first book, titled The Eyes of Darkness, was written by thriller Dean Koontz. According to a recent report by Must Share News.com, the 1981 book follows the story of a woman named Christina whose son is said to have died while camping. After receiving a letter saying her son is still alive, she goes looking for him and finds him. What is intriguing is that her son is being held in a military facility after being infected with a virus manufactured as a bio-weapon by China’s military based in Wuhan. In the novel, the virus is called “Wuhan-400”.
However, despite the uncanny similarities between the fictional virus and the real Covid-19 virus, the “Wuhan-400” in the novel was only carried by humans and had a 100% fatality rate.
The second book, titled End of Days: Predictions And Prophecies About The End Of The World, was written by Sylvia Browne and published in 2008 – more than 30 years after The Eyes of Darkness and 12 years before Covid-19 hit. Browne, who claimed to be a psychic, predicted that “around the year 2020 a serious pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the world, attacking the lungs and bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments.” She predicted that the epidemic would not last long but would come back later. “Almost more disconcerting than the disease itself will be the fact that it will suddenly disappear as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear altogether.”
Netizens have expressed shock at the uncanny similarities between the novels’ narrations and current events in the world.
