Berlin, November 15, 2021 – In collaboration with the entertainment technology startup Impact, Netflix is launching an acceleration program for promising screenwriters from German-speaking countries. After Impact’s collaboration with Netflix in Los Angeles, the program continues for the first time in Europe, starting with Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
During the submission and application process, up to five promising writers with outstanding film or television ideas are selected and accepted into Impact’s mentorship program. For eight weeks, they will be paired with experienced industry professionals in the United States to develop a script for a live-action movie or serial pilot. The five screenwriters selected will receive fees from Netflix for the screenplay they will develop in the workshop as part of a writing agreement with Netflix.
The program will run from May 2 to June 24, 2022. Citizens of Germany, Austria and Switzerland or permanent residents can apply from now until January 1, 2022 with a well thought out idea as well as a sample of writing. Further information can be found at impact.net/netflix-dach.

The partnership with Impact is another step for Netflix to discover authentic and new talent in German-speaking countries and to counter the shortage of skilled workers in the film industry.
